Virke, The Federation of Norwegian Enterprise, organizes and represents over 24 000 businesses with more than 280 000 employees. Virke was founded in 1990 by the trade organizations of Norway with the goal of creating one strong organization that could increase the influence of one of the most value creating industries in Norway.

Virke's new data platform has enabled them to launch new digital products and services for their members at a much faster pace, speed, and scalability than before.

Assignment

As one of the country's largest membership organizations, Virke provides analysis, industry advice, services, and insights to more than 25,000 businesses in Norway. Virke wanted to provide more personalized, targeted, and relevant information to its members, but was held back by technical debt and a lack of data structure.

The data sources that were to be used for insights were, for example, scattered, not reusable, and in some cases non-existent. This resulted in significant resources being spent manually gathering and interpreting data. The insights for Virke to improve were not broken down into a detailed enough level to be used strategically or operationally.

Solution

Virke's new data platform has enabled them to launch new digital products and services for their members at a much faster pace, speed, and scalability than before.

Virke now offers a digital solution where existing insights for the retail and service industry are collected, and entirely new and unique insights are established. The solution is called Virke Insight and provides users with relevant insights on:

  • Macro-trends in commerce, e-commerce, forecasts, and other parameters that are important to keep track of.
  • Tailored and relevant member information adapted to the industry to which they belong.
  • Monthly reports on the industry's status for members of the fast index.
